Things to Experience in

Michigan in Autumn

As I am writing this article, I remember growing up as a youth where fall time meant football season, with the end of summer, plus all the vibrant colors of the leaves starting to change colors. This time of the year being my favorites season brings back many memories for me. Many people flock to the northeastern states just to experience the changing of the leaves, but Michigan has all that and much more. We have the most lighthouses than any other state. Our farms here in the state have pumpkins, apples, cider mills galore, plus all the different species of trees.

Anyway, you will find that the number one attraction during fall is seeing all the changing of the leaves while driving. So why not take a fall color tour around the state to experience fall up close. Some people flock up to the Upper Peninsula, which is a different world to experience

having many scenic drives. One in-particular is Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore truly shines in the fall, making it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a unique and memorable fall color drive in Upper Michigan. It is a place where the grandeur of nature meets the vibrant colors of the season, creating a magical experience that will stay with you forever.

Plus, while in the U.P. you should stop and visit Tahquamenon Falls State Park during the fall season where the copper water of the falls and the colorful leaves make for great picture taking, while hiking the many scenic acres of this park.

Now, some of the best places to experience scenic fall drives in Lower Michigan include M-22 along Lake Michigan, which was voted most scenic autumn drive. See Sleeping Bear Dunes
