Christmas

in Branson, Missouri

Article by Michael Joseph Lynch

Most people who know me know that I have traveled quite a bit in my lifetime, and the city of Branson is where I spent the most time out of all my travels. I have been there 13 weeks in 13 years, not having a timeshare, but I stayed at some super great places there like the Still Water Resort. Anyway, they have more than 50 theaters and 100-plus shows to see here. At Christmas, this place stands out more than any other place in the USA. I will try to fit in as much as possible with an endless list of Christmas-related attractions there to see and do.

The first place to experience is the 1880’s style park; Silver Dollar City. A trip to Branson during the holiday season is not complete without a visit to Silver Dollar City. The amusement park’s “Old Time Christmas” festival features over 6.5 million lights, one thousand decorated trees, two Broadway-style musical productions, thrilling amusement rides, unique shopping, and endless holiday comfort foods and treats. there you will see live actor productions of A

Christmas Carol and the Living Nativity.

Next is a must-see, and that is a live production of Miracle of Christmas over at the Christian Sights & Sound Theater. This holiday season, travel back in time to Bethlehem as the original Christmas story unfolds all around you. Journey alongside Mary and Joseph, a flock of surprised shepherds, and three wise men, along with their camels! There may be no room at the inn, but God has a lowly stable prepared as the angels announce the coming of the Messiah. You will see majestic flying angels, live and animatronic animals, spectacular sets, stunning special effects, and a soaring musical score.
