‘Tis the Fruit of the Spirit

should always live to project every day. However, this year we want to make sure that the spirit of this season continues from this day forward. It is especially important that all these fruits be habitual in our lives.

Not only will our embracing of these fruits help us to encourage someone who is hurting at this time, but additionally, we will keep ourselves upbeat and motivated. This is the time of the year that so many of us are reminded of our loved ones who are deceased, missing, sick, or even in prisons. ‘Tis about that time of the year, where we start to bid one another Happy Thanksgiving & Merry Christmas for festive events. It is in those simple words that we spread the feelings of joy for some, and maybe sorrow for others… The holiday season is when the suicide rate is high, and depression and all feelings of sorrow start to weigh a little heavier. Burdens are sometimes hard to bear when the weather is colder, the sun goes down sooner, and even work becomes longer.

We must use this time not only to enjoy our families, but to enjoy the quality of life, living, and togetherness. We must use this precious time to fine tune our emotions and empathy, in order to understand exactly how someone else may feel. As believers, it is our job to spread not only the holiday cheer but also, the gift of being Christ-like. The gift of being Christ- like includes possessing what He describes in Galatians 5:22-25, KJV, the Fruits of the Spirit. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” These are skills that we
