was located on Telegraph Road near Schoolcraft Road and I‑96. This company went out of business in 2019.
The next restaurant I also visited many times in the 1970s was either the Allen Park or Dearborn location of Sveden House. At the time, I thought they misspelled the name, but it really did have a “V” in it. This place used to be very busy, especially after church let out.

Long Gone--Part 2
DID YOU KNOW?
Many months ago I wrote Part 1 about businesses that are no longer around, all of which I had been to and visited in article number one. This next list of businesses I have also been to over the years before they went out of business. For some people, this will be a trip down memory lane with all these places that I will list.
The first place I wish to talk about is Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour restaurants. I went to this place on multiple visits with my family for birthday parties during my early teens in the 1970s. Michigan had its fair share of Farrell’s locations back then, and I remember seeing people buying huge servings of ice cream, including the humongous “Pig’s Trough.” It was a place where they played old-time music, sang “Happy Birthday” at your table, kids had parties, wait staff ran up and down the dining area acting crazy, and they featured so many different ice cream concoctions!
