The Impartation:
Passing Godly Legacy
to the Next Generation
Grace, mercy and peace to you from God the father and from Christ Jesus our Lord. I would like to ask you this one question, do you remember when? Now let me take you to the scripture found in 2 Timothy 1 verses 3-7. It read as thus, "I always remember you in my prayers day and night. And in these prayers I thank God for you. He is the God my ancestors served, and I have always served Him with a clear conscience. I remember that you cried for me. I want very much to see you so that I can be filled with joy. I remember your true faith. That kind of faith first belonged to your grandmother Lois and to your mother Eunice. I know you now have that same faith. That is why I want you to remember the gift God gave you, that gift when I laid my hands on you. Now I want you to use that gift and let it grow more and more, like a small flame grows into a fire. The spirit God gave us does not make us afraid. His spirit is a source of power and love and self-control."
Here in this scripture text, Paul was encouraging his spiritual son to embrace the gifts and abilities that he gained through just holding on to the faith that was impacted into his life when he was a child. His grandmother and his mother taught him how to trust God for his destiny. His steps had been ordered by
" Many grandparents are greatly concerned that their children
are not passing on
the values and faith by which they
were raised. "
God and they would be taken because of the impartation of the Holy Spirit that was passed to him. Good had to be his life! I believe that Lois modeled grand mothering for us and Eunice modeled parenting for us. Many grandparents are greatly concerned that their children are not passing on the values and faith by which they were raised. Parents and grandparents have a crucial role to fill if faith is to be found on the earth at all. We must as believers demonstrate a faithful walk with the Lord as well as a strong prayer life so that the next generation, our children and grandchildren will have Godly examples of Christian faith and life style. It is alright to trust God and focus on passing down a Godly legacy to our children.
