This next attraction is the Sacramento Zoo. A classic attraction for families that love animals, the Sacramento Zoo, which is in picturesque Land Park, just south of the city center. Highlights at the zoo include feeding the giraffes, watching the primates swing and cause mischief, hearing the roar of a lion, and learning about the various animals and their habitats, and what you can do to help protect animals all over the world. You will see over 500 animals on 14 acres.

This next attraction is one of the first things I would visit upon arriving, which is Old Sacramento Waterfront. This is a 28-acre Historic Landmark in a bustling neighborhood along the beautiful Sacramento River filled with shopping, dining, entertainment, and exploring options for everyone. This part of town looks like you are back in the 1800s with all the old historical buildings. Whether you are looking for a night out, shopping for the perfect gift, visiting a museum, exploring the underground city, or attending one of the many monthly events hosted at the waterfront, there is always a wide variety of things to do for you to choose from.

For example, the California State Railroad Museum for one, which is the largest railroad museum in North America – impeccably restored equipment & exhibits, and the only historical train ride in Sacramento.

Also, Sacramento History Museum and Underground Tour, where you learn Sacramento history from before the Gold Rush to beyond World War II., plus The Delta Queen, where this historic riverboat now serves as a tourist attraction, restaurant, venue, and hotel, plus many more attractions at this area of town a travel guide will show you.

Now, some of the other museums you will see there are the California State Indian Museum, Crocker Art Museum, California Museum, Aerospace Museum of California, California Agriculture Museum, Sacramento History Museum, Sacramento Children's Museum, SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity, California Automobile Museum, and many more.
