The marriage lasted for almost twenty years; he passed away suddenly afterwards. He died in Nigeria, and through their union came a wonderful little boy. I had the privilege of meeting my friend's husband. After being in his company many times, I must say they were well suited for each other. He was good for my friend and he supported her work in Nigeria.
He's gone now, and she had to have courage to face one of the biggest battles of her life---going on without him and raising their young son alone. She passed away years later in America, but she was a very courageous woman in many ways. When she set her sights and her mind on something, she went after it with boldness and faith. It also appeared that God was on her side too. Although she may have felt alone right, she knew she was not defeated. I am sure she had a bag full of courage reserved for such a time even to the end, and as always, it had brought her through both trials – knowing that God would take care of her son as He had her.
