C. You must see others’ potential and invest in. In the Movie “The FORGE”…Isaiah (an irresponsible, young adult from a single parent home), reluctantly looking for a job, ventures into Moore Fitness to complete a job application. When a chance encounter puts him face-to-face with the president of the company, he assumed that his irresponsible attitude and demeanor had closed the door. But Mr. Joshua Moore (who had lost a son years before) extends the hand of friendship to Isaiah. Over lunch, Moore asked Isaiah where he would like to be in 5 years, followed by three key questions: What ways do you want to grow in the next year? What kind of man do you want to be? What do you want people to think when they see you coming? Company President Joshua Moore then gave Isaiah, a floundering young man purpose by the questions asked and mentoring offered. You can help take your family and others to the next level, by being a Godly mentor, knowing that…
1. A Friend loves you the way you are, but a Godly mentor loves you too much to leave you the way you are!
2. A Friend overlooks your weaknesses, but a Godly mentor removes your weaknesses.
3. A Friend is comfortable with your past, but a Godly mentor is only comfortable when you’re pursuing a Godly future. So become a Father Force of Influence 2ndly to:
II. BELIEVE GOD CAN CHANGE WHAT
YOU CAN’T
Like the prodigal in Luke 15, when we spent our Father’s goods on loose living, God sent Jesus to the cross to restore us back to Him. God knew we’d blow it! So when we were lost in sin, with no direction or purpose, God took great pain at Calvary to change what we couldn’t and became our Daddy! Its because God wants to mentor Fathers, that Jesus discloses God’s heart in Luke 15 Prodigal story for He knows:
A. Every problem you face is a Wisdom problem. We get in trouble when we forget the goodness of our Father. This is why we need mentors to inspire us, determination to change, and prayer to see us through. In the movie “The FORGE”, Ms. Clara offers this wisdom: “We can’t treat prayer like a spare tire that we only pull out in an emergency; it’s the steering wheel that you hold tightly every day, no matter where you are going.” Prayer helps us see beyond the problem we are facing! In II Kings 6:15-18 the Aramean army surrounds Dothan (where the prophet Elisha is staying). In the morning his attendant cries out “What shall we do?” as he sees the large army. Elisha his mentor then prays, “Lord open his eyes that he may see” and when God does this, his servant sees “the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha”. Prayer helps us see!
B. Wisdom is the force behind every miracle. An awareness of the Father's
