BEFORE YOU SAY "I DO"
The Days After
the Ceremony
Article by Dr. Tunishai Ford
Many women dream of having that fairy tale wedding since they were little girls. They sit up and fanaticize year after year of walking down the aisle to that handsome groom for which she saw in her mind's eye since the time she was old enough to really start liking boys. Weddings of their dreams usually cost ten thousand dollars or more, and if she is a celebrity it could range in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Well, everyone is entitled to do whatever they want to do with their money, especially when it comes down to planning a wedding. In addition, everyone is equally entitled to dreaming of that wonderful wedding that has plagued their minds since they were children, but what about the week after when the honeymoon is over, and the real deal finally begins.
Now this is where the rubber meets the road. Let's ask ourselves this question. "How many people, especially the women, dream about the marriage?" That is every
day after the wedding, the bills, the different living habits, the rearing of children and moral and spiritual values. We can go on and on, but I think you get my drift. I am sure that you all have seen and/ or heard about couples who invested a lot of money into that wedding day, but during or after the honeymoon, they find out that they are really not prepared to spend the rest of their lives
"Before a marriage takes place, there should be some forethought as to what kind of marriage you want, ... more than just the physically characteristics
of your spouse ...."
