COVER STORY

At Plum Health, we deliver affordable, accessible healthcare services in Detroit and beyond. Plum Health is a Direct Primary Care clinic, which means that we offer a membership model for health care. For $10/month for children and $49/month for young adults, my members can see me anytime in the office. They can also call, text, or email

me anytime.

In addition, we get folks wholesale medications, at-cost labs, and at-cost imaging services. In the first 6 months of 2017, we have saved our members over $20,000 on these three types of services. Why? Because we don’t make money on meds, labs or imaging services. We only make money on the membership fees. That way, you know that you’re getting the best prices on ancillary services while paying a relatively low monthly fee to

see the doctor.

We have been featured on Channel 4 WDIV (http://www.clickondetroit.com/health/detroit-doctor-says-he-can-save-patients-big-bucks), in Crain’s Detroit Business (http://www.crainsdetroit.com/article/20170330/BLOG106/170329776/detroit-direct-primary-care-provider-challenges-traditional-approach), as well as the Detroit News and Detroit Free Press.

Not only do I strive to provide affordable healthcare at the community level, but I also seek to inspire the next generation of Primary Care doctors. We need the best and brightest minds from our medical schools and institutions of higher learning to pursue Family Medicine in Direct Primary Care settings. These doctors will build upon what we have started in the DPC movement and

create the lasting change that will usher in a new era of health care, a system based on authentic relationships between doctors and their patients.

Yours in good health,
