Anyway, as the other communities of Southern Suburban Detroit have grown around it, Wyandotte’s riverfront and other charms continually draw people from all over the world. Over the years, Wyandotte has mirrored the rest of the country with several waves of immigrant populations moving into the area seeking jobs and community. Much of the city’s culture is influenced by the German, Irish, Italian, and Polish immigrants.

The city has several festivals during the year including the Heritage Event Series (highlighting culture and history), the Wyandotte Street Art Fair (the second largest in the state), The Independence Day Parade, Holiday Parade, Movie Nights, Wyandotte Third-Friday Events and Downtown Markets.

1956: Neisner Bros. Biddle and Maple Street (1931 to 1978)

Then the community of Ford City was founded as a village in 1902. It was named for John B. Ford who ran the Michigan Alkali Company. In 1922 it merged with Wyandotte. Wyandotte is now made up of different villages such as Glenwood, Ford City, and Maquaqua, which all merged to form Wyandotte. On April 14, 1924, a large section of Ecorse Township was also annexed to Wyandotte making it even larger.

Now, beginning in the 1920s Wyandotte was a major source of toy production, with the All-Metal Products Company founded in 1920 and located in Wyandotte on Sycamore Street between 14th and 15th streets. From the 1920s until the 1950s the company, under the name "Wyandotte Toys," was the largest manufacturer of toy guns and pistols in the USA, producing a wide variety of pop guns, clicker pistols, dart guns, cap guns, and a variety of plastic pistols. The company also produced a wide range of toy airplanes and other vehicles by pressing scrap metal obtained from local
