These next places are very highly rated attractions. The first one is the Royal Alexandra Theatre at 260 King Street West. A masterpiece of beaux-arts architecture, the historic Royal Alexandra built in 1907 is Toronto's oldest continuously operating theatre in North America having almost 3000 production shows since its opening day with 1,497 seats. there you will currently see live plays such as Six the Musical, and Hadestown, plus new future shows not announced yet.
Now, right down the street only one block away is the Prince of Wales Theatre at 300 King Street West. Built in 1993, it is a modern 2000-seat theatre. See live productions there such as 42nd Street, The Book of Mormon, Aladdin, Les Misérables, and others, but see the website for all current productions.
Now, this next theatre is not near these last two theatres. This next theatre is the Ed Mirvish Theatre at 263 Yonge Street. For over one hundred years, the Ed Mirvish Theatre has been at the center of Toronto’s popular entertainment scene. With a two-tiered auditorium that was completely renovated it is a perfect venue for everything from intimate plays to large-scale musicals. there they have live productions such as Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations, To Kill a Mockingbird, Chicago, The Tina Turner Musical, as well as others. There are many other theatres but these are the ones with the highest review ratings. You will find some people come from the USA for a few days as a nice getaway, and attend these theatres, as well as some of the top-of-the-line
