VACATION AND TRAVEL
classic Broadway musicals, as well as family shows, and tribute artists. The Palace Theater has six to seven family-friendly shows a year while serving dinner before the show begins, or if you just want to see the show only, they have tickets for just the show on certain days and hours.
You will see shows like; “Peter Pan, Mamma Mia, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat,” as well as other ones. They also have tribute bands that sound and sometimes look like the original artist at this theater such as the “Bee Gees, Cher, Neil Diamond, John Denver, Patsy Cline, Elvis,” and many others.
I think the most popular thing most people do when they arrive in town is the boat rides. There are different types of tour boats on the “Wisconsin River and Lake Delton.” They have the “Speed Boat” tours which are one hour long, with one stop along the way.
The regular “Dell Tour Boats” which are two hours long with two stops along the way; they cruise at a slower speed, but you’re on the water twice as long as the speed boats. Next, the “Wisconsin Ducks Boats” are land and water boats which are one hour long, where you’re on Lake Delton and the Wisconsin River, and also, this has tires just like a car and leaves the water and drives on land throughout the city limits as part of your tour.
Then there is the “Ghost Boat,” which is an evening scary boat cruise that has narrated scary stories which cruises through the dark waters, with a stop along the way where you exit the boat and a tour guide takes you for a walk through the dark forest before returning to the boat to continue your 90 minute
cruise. This is not for the faint of heart!
Lastly; there is the “Sunset Dinner Cruise” where you enjoy the combination of beautiful scenery, live entertainment, and fine food on this two and a quarter hour dinner cruise. Sit back, relax and enjoy the evening against the stunning backdrop of sandstone cliffs and rock formations along the Upper Dells on the Wisconsin River. You will be treated to live entertainment. The evening includes a mixture of folk, pop, country and island beat music. I believe there is one stop along the way!
