My Story
There is a notion that retirement age is not the time to grow new business ideas. I believed, when God gives you an idea no matter what age you are, you should run with it. If you decide to do God’s work and do not want to solely depend on your retirement income to support your business, then seek resources such as food competitions, grants, family and friends. My sisters and brother contributed finances to my idea. I participated in pitch competitions and worked as a vendor in several markets (Eastern Market, Flint Farmers Market, Making It in Michigan, Vegi Bash Etc.) I am still breaking financially even but doors are continually opening for me.
You Want to Be an Entrepreneur
Do you have the desire and energy to push forward towards your dream? Are you willing to invest your time and attend business related workshops? Have you written down your vision, purpose, goals, and formulated a business plan? Have you answered the question, “Is your business idea about profit only or does it solve any problems in society?”
You must not forget that successful
entrepreneurs are the ones who identified the problems and created steps to solve those problems through the guidance of God the Father. If you are only thinking about selfish money-making ideas or “money grabs” then becoming financially successful will evolve into a bruised road.
