BEFORE YOU SAY "I DO"
describes in His word concerning Jesus Christ and the Body of Christ or as it is also called, "The Church" (Ephesians 5: 21 - 33). God reveals His most intricate and sacred desires for us through this relationship. This is also true between a husband and wife. It's more than just a feeling or those butterflies you feel in your stomach when you are around that person. It's actually through the absence of those feelings that you still know you love that person with all of your very being.
I believe that God can only validate intimacy between two people through His agape love. It ignites the perfect kind of love and adoration between them. When the word of God states that the love between a man and a woman is a mystery, it expresses the intimacy that exists between them that can only be experienced from the spiritual realm. If you are married, and you know, that you know, that you know that you are with your soul mate, then you are experiencing true intimacy with your mate. You are experiencing only what God would allow you to. This is why when a man finds a wife, they become one flesh. It is not just from a physical intertwining, but also a spiritual intertwining.
The marriage bed legitimizes intimacy in the physical and spirit realm. When men and women indulge in pre-marital sex, they are entering into a spiritual bond illegally, and God does not recognize this union (I Corinthians 7:2). It is because of this illegal entrance that so many men and women experience many problems in their lives with the opposite sex. There is confusion, heartache, illness (STDs), and often even death that occurs. This is very serious and not to be taken lightly. For this reason, I have personally made up in my mind that I want to do things God's way, because I want to be legit when I experience intimacy again. I want my mate, God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit to be present, and we all become one as God has exemplified through the relationship with, He and the Body of Christ.
