Anyway, every time I am on vacation I make it a point to visit a zoo if there is one located where I am vacationing. I have been to at least 12 different Zoos all over the United States, but here in Little Rock they have a zoo. The Little Rock Zoo has long been one of Arkansas's great treasures. It all began modestly in 1926, with just two animals — an abandoned timber wolf and a circus-trained brown bear. Today, they have grown to include more than 725 animals on 33 acres representing 200+ species, many on the endangered list. They are located at 1 Zoo Drive. See website for all info!
This next place is the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. This is a museum and active center for the visual and performing arts. Featuring a world-class international collection of art, live theatre productions, art classes, lectures, films, family programs, shopping, and dining.
day. This museum is fittingly situated in the historic Tower Building of the Little Rock Arsenal, which was built in 1840 to ward off attacks by Indians.
Now, the museum includes exhibits detailing the state's military history. Arkansas's oldest surviving structures and the birthplace of one of this country's foremost military heroes--the museum collects, preserves, and interprets the state's rich military past from its territorial period to the present.
