B.The Person On This Throne - The One on this throne is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ, John 5:22, 27; II Tim. 4:1-3. Our Savior will be the Sentencer that day! This One who is a resurrected conqueror who is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. His presence is so powerful that even the heavens and the Earth flee from before Him II Peter 3:10-13 says. Since all this is to be, Today is the day of salvation! Call out to Jesus, for He wants you to Discover a NEW YOU in Him!
C.The Perception Of This Throne - Some think they are getting away with things now, but the truth is, God knows all about you and what you have been doing. Prov. 5:21 says, “The ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He watches all his paths. On that judgment day, Luke 8:17 says, “nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest….” No sin is hidden from Him, and no thought can be concealed. Heb. 4:13 says “all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we are accountable too!” For this reason, 2ndly see…
II.JUSTICE AND THE GREAT WHITE THRONE (Rev. 20:12-13)
A.The Defendants Appearing At The Throne - We are told that all appearing before the throne are “dead.” This proves that there will not be a single “born again” believer in the group because John 5:24 tells us that we who have trusted Jesus as our Savior have “passed from death unto life.” Also, Revelation 20:4 says believers “came to life and reigned with Christ for a 1,000 years… and verse 6 “are part of the first resurrection, over
these the second death has no power…” Humanity mentioned in Revelations 20:12-13 will be made up completely of all who are spiritually dead Eph. 2:1 “in their trespasses and sins.” One second after death, the wicked go as the Rich Man did in Luke 16:23 “to Hades being in torment in that flame.”
B.The Documents Used At The Throne - The Bible tells us here that the “books” will be opened, and they will see awful things Jesus suffered to atone for sin! First, The Bible - Jesus told us we would be judged out of His Word for John 12:48 says, “the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.” Second, The Book Of Deeds and Words - Revelations 20:12 makes it clear “the lost will be judged according to their works.” In Heaven, a record is being maintained of the deeds of all men. One day, every lost person will stand before the Lord and hear the record of his life read.
In addition, there will be, The Book of Destiny or Remembrance. Psa. 139:16 says, “Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your Book were all written the days that were ordained for me when as yet there was not one of them.” Malachi 3:16 calls this “a Book of Remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name. Further (and most important), The Lamb’s Book of Life-Jesus said (Luke 10:20), “rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.” The Book He spoke of is “The Lamb’s Book of Life,” and it contains the names of all who are redeemed by the blood of Jesus.
