of Love in Your
Marriage

countless times, it is hard enough to live with someone you love, and like, how difficult do you think it will be to live with someone you do not care for at all? Marriage is a choice; therefore, if you decide to marry and you are not attracted to that person and not in love, you have a lot of heartaches to look forward to. You do not have to marry to find happiness. In fact, you are better off being single if you think you can't put the necessary energy and commitment into a marriage. The energy is the passion, and commitment is the willingness to work at keeping the passion alive.
If you have been married for a long time and you find that your marriage has lost its flavor (passion), make a conscious effort to restore that element that led you to the altar in the first place. Don't cheat yourself out of happiness. Yes, marriage is a commitment and a covenant, but you do not have to be miserable to stay in it. God is a loving God who wants you to be happy at all costs. He did not create marriage as a form of bondage; instead, it was created
What was it that attracted you to your spouse? Was it their smile? Maybe it was the way they said your name. Well, whatever made you fall in love, what will keep your marriage alive? When a couple is married for a while, the passion can sometimes fizzle and become mundane. Of course, you do not want that to happen because the reason why you married in the first place was that you were passionately in love. As I wrote in previous issues, marriage is something you have to work at, especially the passion. Unfortunately, that is probably the one element that few couples try to keep in their marriage. It often just becomes a marriage of convenience. The flame left, and cobwebs are forming on the marriage bed.
Now I am not married, but I strongly believe that God did not create marriage as a means to an end as an institution. Marriages are when two complete, whole and unique individuals fall in love (Eros) and decide to spend the rest of their lives together (Genesis 2: 24). Like I have said
