VACATION AND TRAVEL

This 5th attraction I’ve been to years ago is the 27th President William Howard Taft National Historic Site. They are located at 2038 Auburn Avenue in the city of Cincinnati. This is a FREE attraction! The Taft Education Center is the park's main visitor center. It is the first building visitors should enter upon arriving in the park. Visitors will view the park film, arrange for a tour of the Taft home and purchase small items in the park's bookstore.

Enjoy a ranger-guided tour of the birthplace and home to the nation's 27th President and 10th Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. The home is decorated in Victorian-era style, just as it was during William Howard Taft's years lived in the house. These next Presidential attractions are all in the Northeast area of the state. Over in Lake View Cemetery, 12316 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland is the 20th President James A. Garfield Memorial. The Garfield Monument stands 180 feet tall and holds the remains of him and his wife.

This next attraction is the James A. Garfield National Historic Site. They are located at 8095 Mentor Avenue in the city of Mentor. The $10.00 entrance fee allows each visitor to take a guided tour of the Garfield home. In 1893, Lucretia Garfield constructed a Carriage House and Horse Barn behind the Garfield Home. In 1998, the same building was opened as the Visitor Center at James A. Garfield National Historic Site. Inside, visitors can find the site's 18-minute film and exhibits in chronological order of the President's life.

This next attraction is the James A. Garfield Birthplace. They are located at 4350 SOM Ctr. Rd in the city of Moreland Hills. On November 19, 1831, James A Garfield, the 20th President of the United States, was born. The Village Hall grounds contain a replica of that 1830’s cabin. Behind the cabin is the 1/4-mile Birth Site walking Trail. The inside cabin is by appointment only. This next attraction is the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum. They are located at 800 McKinley Monument Dr. N.W. in the city of Canton. Visitors to the Museum are in for a wonderful experience that includes an interactive science center, a presidential museum dedicated to our 25th president, a historical library, a planetarium, and more. Admission is only $10.00, including the Museum, library, and 65-seat planetarium having little shows.

This next attraction is the McKinley Birthplace Memorial/Home. The McKinley Birthplace Home is a replica house located at 40 South Main Street in the city of Niles, less than a block away from the library. A museum is on the balcony of the right-
