VACATION AND TRAVEL

“A dolphin show at SeaWorld”

This next place to go to is “SeaWorld” which was fun for me and my brother when we were there on vacation. This place is open every day of the year! There are thrill rides and roller coasters, shows with whales, dolphins, seas lions, an aquarium, seasonal events, dining, tours, theaters, and shopping. This is a great place to spend the day. (If you plan ahead of time you can get discounts on these attractions with package deals on the internet. Read the reviews of all these places just to get a sense of what people are experiencing, and also, you may hear some helpful tips before you go.) The next attraction is called “Gatorland.” This place is noted as being the “Alligator Capital of the World.” There isn’t a better place to see alligators and crocodiles of all sizes, from babies, also known as grunts, to the 14-foot monsters that call this breeding marsh home. There are also other animals there like birds, wild cats, tortoises and snakes. This place is open every day from 10am-6pm. There are different shows to experience at that all day attraction.

Living in Michigan can be cold this time of the year and later in the season. During the months of January until springtime is usually the time the snowbirds of Michigan and other northern state residents flee to Florida to delay experiencing winter a little bit longer. I have been to Orlando a few times and it’s not only for families and kids, but also, for single adults like me who likes what it has to offer.

I’ve read somewhere the best time to visit Orlando for adults is in January to beat the crowds. Not the first week of the month, but the 2nd week and on, otherwise it’s crowded with kids still on their Christmas break from school. I’m actually writing this article from the perspective of an adult, or more than one adult on vacation together.

Anyway, although Orlando is perhaps best known as a kid-friendly destination, there really are plenty of fun things to see and do in Orlando for adults too, all of which are not Disney related. Whether you’re looking for parks and nature, shopping, dining, museums or sightseeing, you’ll be able to find it all in this exciting and vibrant city.

If you’re looking for places to see and things to do in Orlando for adults, here are some of the attractions I have experienced when I was here more than once back in 1986 and 2002.

The first attraction is the “Kennedy Space Center,” which is a very attraction to see that can take the entire day. When you are there, your visit will include training like an astronaut, attending special events, or just a day of touring Kennedy Space Center. You need to arrive early for this full-day experience and to

make the most out of your visit. Thought closing time varies by season; the visitor complex opens at 9 am every day of the year. There is a lot to see and do there, so check their website for all details.
