THE SPIRIT IN YOU
19 New Year Goals
for 2019
Article by Lama-Leah
2018 had its highs and lows for everyone. We have all experienced joys and sorrows. As the calendars tell us that it is time for a new physical year, it is also a time for new beginnings in a worldly and spiritual sense. In the midst of the “busyness” of the holiday season, I challenge you to consider implementing a few or possibly all of these goals for 2019. By following them, I trust that you will find a refreshing new outlook on life.
1) Live everyday with intention.
“So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” ~1 Corinthians 10:31, NIV
2) Start everyday with a grateful heart.
“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” ~ Psalms 107:1, NIV
3) Do one small act of kindness a day.
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” – Galatians 6: 10, NIV
4) Make it a habit to pray for the leadership of your Church.
5) Pray for your enemies
“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.” ~Luke 6:27-31, NIV
6) Journal your prayers, and then write about how God answers those prayers throughout the year.
7) Form your own ministry.
“While our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it” ~ 1 Corinthians 12:24, NIV
