A Time and A Season

for Purpose

There is a time and season for everything. This is also true for fulfilling the plan of God for your lives. Everyone has a purpose, and that purpose comes to pass during the season that God ordains (Ecclesiastes 3: 17). It is not based on one's age or how talented you are. It is not even based on your popularity. God has a plan that He ordained since the beginning of time as we know it. He has mapped out blueprints for each of our lives at an appointed time. Although many people are living well and appear to be successful at what they do, we still need to keep in mind one major factor---Is this God's perfect plan and is it God's season for that plan?

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: ... (Ecclesiastes 3: 1, KJV).

I often reflect on this because I see many people who are very successful and some even gain their success extremely early in life. Yes, it is quite evident that they are gifted individuals, and they have people around them to cheer them on and give them all the support needed to be successful, but are they truly living out the plan that God has ordained for them?

God has allowed us to dream and make choices for our lives because He has given us free will, but as you have probably observed some of those plans that mankind has put into place have not been in everyone's best interest. When God brings forth a plan in its season and it is also His plan, it positively affects everyone. It is for the good of the masses.

There is a perfect example that the bible highlights in the life of one of the most famous kings in the Old Testament. As we look at the life of King David, we see that God chose him to be king when he was a teenager just tending the sheep (I Samuel 16). David had many older
