another era. The bar had a couple of booths that had beautiful horse heads carved that demarcated one booth from another. Starting with the appetizer plate that came out almost as soon as you were seated, that had a bean salad and herring in sour cream with crackers and bread; you started to eat before you knew you were hungry. It was that kind of place where you felt at home. Everybody knew about Joey’s Stables for its delicious food, music, and atmosphere. The chefs in the kitchen were top-notch, as were the waitresses and hostesses. People came from all over and ordered specialties, such as prime rib, pasta, frog legs and fish, plus many other Italian and Hungarian dishes from the menu. The restaurant finally closed its doors in 1989, but it will never be forgotten. Down below is a video.
