the open door into Heaven. Finally…
4. The Door Of Splendor – Rev. 19:11 One day Heaven will be opened again …not to allow people to enter; but to allow Jesus to return to earth with His church in splendor, power, glory to stamp out evil & establish His kingdom. This further:
B. Involved The Ears – Not only did John see a door; John heard a trumpet! He said, “first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet (demanding response)”. In O.T., Trumpets were blown to break camp, for feast days (Feast of Trumpets) & times of war. I Thess. 4:16 says Jesus will return in the Rapture “with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God”. I Cor. 15:52 says Jesus is coming “at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, the imperishable body of the dead will be raised to join their spirit.” God will use a trumpet sound to signal His people when it’s time for the redeemed to come out of life’s circumstances (Matt. 24:40-41) of their graves & fly away to their heavenly home! So 3rdly see…
III. THE SWEETNESS OF WHEN JESUS OPENS THE DOOR
A. It Speaks Of A Deliverance – John is told that he is going to see “things which must be hereafter,” with Tribulation events starting in Rev. 6 that are too horrible and amazing to comprehend. It’s significant that John (as representative man for all the redeemed) is caught up into Heaven before the horrors of the Tribulation Period begin. It’s exactly what Rapture of the church is—a victory reunion! I Thess. 4:17 “Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, so we shall always be
you’re prepared to GO (Matt. 24:40-44). 2ndly see:
II. THE SYMBOLISM OF WHEN JESUS OPENS THE DOOR
The book of Revelation is a book filled with signs, symbols & illustrations. The opening verse (Rev. 1:1) says John was given “the things which must soon take place, and Jesus sent and sign-i-fied it”. Jesus is pictured as a “Lamb”. The redeemed saints are pictured as “twenty-four elders”. New Jerusalem is pictured as a “bride”. The Antichrist is called “the beast”. In other words, Jesus tells John He is going to reveal some of the content of this book in signs & symbols show that it:
A. Involved The Eyes–John says he saw a “door opened in Heaven”. This literally means there was a door “standing open” in Heaven and John saw & walked thru this first of four doors in this book of Revelation:
1. The Door of Service (told to the church in Philadelphia) Rev. 3:8 “that no man can shut”.
2. The Door of Salvation (door of the heart in Rev. 3:20) each lost person must open to Christ! People do not go to Heaven thru the door of the church for Jesus identified Himself as “the Door”, and in John 14:6 Jesus made it clear that He’s the only way to Heaven! Jesus in Matt. 25:1-13 shared the urgency of being ready for bridegroom came and the door was shut! II Cor. 6:2 says “now is day of salvation”!
3. The Door Of Summons – Rev. 4:1 Open Door is for those who are saved and one day soon will be called up to go through
