VACATION AND TRAVEL

this was a free enjoyable stop. Unfortunately, the Francesca house from the movie that Meryl Streep’s character

lived at and was visited by Clint Eastwood’s character caught on fire, but still standing, and it is no longer an

attraction. We were able to visit this house on our first visit, but our 2nd time here is when we were told about the arson. The nearby Roseman Bridge is where many scenes were filmed. Watch the movie first before your visit.

Lastly, you will find that 49 minutes away is another very nice side trip, which is the Boone Scenic Valley Railroad. Here you can take a two-hour dinner or lunch ride or just a scenic train ride only. There is even a museum onsite. See the website for all info on when to schedule and all costs. Also, you will find other attractions I was not able to list, but down below is a link to a travel guide to show everything I may have missed, and a video.
