Cluj-Napoca

Cluj-Napoca, located in the heart of Transylvania is the second largest city in Romania. It’ s a university city and hosts one of the highest ranked universities from our country, Babes-Bolyai University founded in 1579, according to historical records.
The central square is a magnificent place to visit. Travelers will find here two beautiful central squares, Unirii Square and Avram Iancu Square. On one side, they will discover around Unirii Square beautiful beading, the Franciscan Church, one of the oldest and most significant edifices of the city, build in the 11 th – 12 th centuries, in a Romanesque style church, later changed in Gothic style, in the 15 th century; St. Michael ' s Church, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Romania, dating from the 14 th- 15 th century; and Bánffy Castle, the most important Baroque building in Cluj-Napoca, from the 18 th century.
