Half Moon Lake
• The hamlet was founded in the late 1950s when the
land north of the lake was subdivided into residential
lots. Development of a subdivision on the south side
of the lake followed soon after.
• Half Moon Lake is named for it appearance-a crescent
shaped body of fresh water that is approximately 2
kilometers in length, 250 meters wide and a maximum
of 8.5 meters deep.
• Half Moon Lake Resort, located the south of the lake, offers 276 campsites, washrooms
facilities, a developed beach, playground, recreational rentals, walking trails and other
amenities. The resort is open from May to October of each year.
