that is Elvira’s Restaurant. Over 2000
hand-blown hanging glass raindrops
enlivened with colored spotlights
makes for a perfectly romantic and
special-occasion venue. Third genera-
tion owner-chef and professionally-
trained interior designer Ruben
Monroy has taken the original Elvira’s
concept—a takeout eatery in No-
gales, Mexico, circa 1927—to a whole
new level, while remaining true to
authentic Mexican fare. Trained in
Mexico City, Ruben insists on the
finest regional ingredients to evoke a
most memorable dining experience.
