Alexandra Darby produces highly creative and colourful imagery of an absurd and uncanny nature. Photography is her way of transporting you into a world unlike the one you live, and introducing you to many scenarios where logic is not in existance. Her imagery crosses over from fine art into fashion, applying this unique aesthetic. The images displayed here are from Alexandra’s final major project titled ‘Chrysophobia’. This project is an exploration into the irrational fear of the colour orange. The images take you into a vibrant blue space where an orange and white figure is taunted by orange objects surrounding her. You are not assumed to make sense of the images, but to allow yourself to be abosrbed by the dream-like imagery. With strong inspirations from Alice and Wonderland, Alexandra takes you into a realm where things aren’t as they seem. See more at: www.alexandradarby.com 12
