The 2023 Dis-Chem Pharmacies Half-Marathon is taking place on 15 January 2023 and will celebrate the 21 st anniversary of this Gauteng ’ s premier half marathon , hosted by the athletics section of the Bedfordview Country Club . Also , the ever popular Centrum 5km Fun Run will be run in conjunction with the half marathon .
The event once again takes place at the Bedfordview Virgin Active Club , heralding the start of the New Year ’ s running activities , and the route for 2023 remains the same taking the run through the scenic suburbs of Bedfordview and Primrose . The organisational efficiency of this event continues to receive accolades year on year , and the high-value goodie bags are always well received by all entrants .
DIS-CHEM HALF MARATHON RACE INFORMATION
DATE : Sunday 15 January 2023
VENUE : Virgin Active Club , 101 Van Buuren Road , Bedfordview
START TIME : 6am in Riley Road ( seeded )
REFRESHMENTS : Six water tables ( spaced approximately 3km apart )

ENTRIES : Pre-entries only – none on the day !
No registration , substitution and T-shirt collection on race day
TIMING & RESULTS : The event will be electronically timed and your timing chip will be attached to your race number .
Please make sure you cross all the timing mats and do not crumple , bend or fold your bib , as this may damage the timing chip and we may not be able to read your finish time .
MEDALS : Optional purchase during entry process .

CENTRUM 5KM FUN RUN RACE INFORMATION
DATE : Sunday 15 January 2023
VENUE : Virgin Active Club , 101 Van Buuren Road , Bedfordview
START TIME : 6:15am in Riley Road - after the 21km start .
PARKING : Ample parking facilities , but please arrive early , as traffic congestion is severe before the start .
ENTRIES : Available at Registration and on Race Day before the start :
• Saturday 14 January @ Virgin Active Bedfordview ( race venue , on the field ) from 9:30am to 3:30pm
• Sunday 15 January @ Virgin Active Bedfordview ( race venue , on the field ) from 5am
ENTRY FEE : R100 ( including a T-Shirt for first 600 ). After that , R70 per entry ( with no T-Shirt ).

REGISTRATION AND NUMBER COLLECTION
1 . Compulsory registration : All entrants MUST register before the event , and collect their race numbers and goodie bags .
2 . Pre-entries only : No new entries at Registration or on race day .
3 . Flexible registration : It does not matter where you requested to register , you can go to any registration point .
4 . Registration Venues and Times :
• Dis-Chem Nicolway ( view map ) – Thursday 12 January 2023 09:30 – 17:00
• Dis-Chem Park Meadows ( view map – opposite Eastgate ) Friday 13 January 2023 09:30 – 17:00
• Virgin Active Bedfordview ( view map ) Saturday 14 January 2023 09:30-15:30 NOTE : NO registration , goodie bag and T-shirt collection on race day or substitutions
5 . Collecting for others : To collect for someone else , you must produce the other runner ’ s race number confirmation , as well as some form of identification ( ID , Passport or Drivers Licence ) must be presented by the collecting party .
6 . Substitutions : If an athlete can ’ t participate , they may allow another athlete to officially take over their race number , but must provide a letter confirming the substitution , as well as a copy of their ID . An admin fee of R50 is charged for substitutions , to be paid in cash . Substitutions can only be made at registration up till Saturday 14 Jan 2023 ( i . e . not on race morning ), using the original race number .
7 . Lost numbers : No duplicate of lost numbers will be issued .
8 . T & Cs : While we will endeavour to supply your T-Shirt size we cannot guarantee your preferred size . T-Shirts will not be handed out on Race Day .
