LAND OF A THOUSAND HILLS

Rwanda has become the fi rst African nation to ratify the Protocol on Free Movement of Persons and the African Passport. The African passport was launched in 2016 to facilitate free movement of Africans across the continent. However, until the ratifi cation by Rwanda, the passport was only available to presidents, diplomats and select government offi cials, with the AU promising to facilitate countries to provide it to their citizens. Rwanda has already eased the movement by providing the global visa-free regime for Africans wishing to travel into the country.

Curving hillside roads, waving kids, contagious smiles, vista views, a palate of green, and everywhere people walking, walking and walking. This is how Rwanda welcomes its visitors. The“ Singapore of Africa” or“ Switzerland of Africa”, whichever analogy you choose, the meaning is clear: order, cleanliness, calm, rules enforced.

Rwanda, the undulating and luscious“ Land of a Thousand Hills”, offers so many new experiences. Rwanda today is known for incredible mountain gorilla safaris and yes, they are truly amazing; however, Rwanda has more primates and wildlife to offer than only mountain gorillas. They include the chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest National Park and the golden monkeys in the Volcanoes National Park. A very distinctive experience when you can get inches away from Gorillas is something that you can’ t put a price on. Scenery seekers will not be disenchanted here, with breathtaking views, phenomenal wildlife and verdant greenery that is stunning at every turn.
