One of the priorities of the Commercial Office of Peru in India is to serve as the facilitator for business between Peruvian exporters and Indian importers. In other words, we placed at the international stage, especially considering the present trend towards the consumption of nutrient rich food.
Peruvian exportable products are aimed at large international markets like India. It is important to mention the popularity these health foods are acquiring, as demonstrated by our export figures, showing a steep growth in the demand of the Peruvian Superfoods like quinoa, grapes, cocoa bean, etc.
Trends related to the consumption of healthy food are a result of the evolving preferences of the urban Indian consumer. This set of consumers, also the target market for the Peruvian products, not only chooses to eat healthy but also associate the quality of the product with a brand. Peruvian Superfoods will continue to remain popular and do well for the same reason. The consumer values a good quality product that greatly contributes towards their personal care and health, especially if it is accompanied with a reference to the origin of the product denoting quality above all.
The preference for these products is also due to the international fame which Peruvian gastronomy has acquired in the recent years. Many big Indian importers have shown deep interest in staple Peruvian ingredients. The Commercial Office in India will continue with its efforts to showcase a range of our products and their advantages.
