He said the answer to what Nelson Mandela’s legacy for democratic South Africa laid in the question itself. “His greatest legacy to the country is a democratic South Africa – a country that was transformed from being the polecat of the world to a true democracy,” he added. Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, an honorary fellow of London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and H.E. Dr. Hlamalani Nelly Manzini, High Commissioner of South Africa, also interacted with students from over 10 schools. Nelson Mandela made an impact fi ghting for human rights in South Africa, as well as globally. His life has been an inspiration to the world at large and we must remind ourselves to think more like Nelson Mandela and let his principles live on through our actions.
