“The most challenging part is
the idea. Since my art is pure
imagination – getting the idea
is often the most diffi cult. Once
that is there fi nishing is not
very hard.”
What is your creative process like?
My creative process is basically thinking about art all the
time. That way sometimes an idea fl ashes and I give it form.
Describe a real-life situation that inspired you?
There are many of my works based on real-life situations.
WOMAN – is based on the single woman I have met in
Argentina. All professionals very well place in society. But
somehow reaching there has left the family space empty in
their lives.
SQUARE – is about some friends who are really very
square about the way of life. The way they think and do
things is very limited when they are actually capable of doing
so much more. WAR – This is based on the real situations
when the Arab spring revolution started off in Egypt. Every
day there was bloodshed with people revolting and chaos in
that society. Through this painting, I have tried to show that
bloodshed. The sun is tinted in red, the Nile fl owing. Through
all this chaos is a lone soldier walking towards the Mosque
seeking peace.
What piece of your artwork would you like to be
remembered for?
Think out of the box and Prisoners in Paradise are my
two personal favourites.
