Peru’s Potential in Renewable Energies
Peru’s varied geography has historically
been both a boon and a challenge to our
people. The stretch of coast is separated
from the Amazon jungle by the Andes and
their many rivers, which over time have
produced a myriad of stunning landscapes,

but which have required a great deal of
ingenuity of ancient Peruvians to be used
for production. For example, the Andean
civilisation invented stair-step terraces
called “andenes”, which not only allowed
them to grow crops in an otherwise diffi cult
