TRICERATOPS

THE TOUGHEST OF ALL DINOSAURS

riceratops, one of the most famous and recognisable dinosaurs of all-time, is one of the most beloved animals that anyone would choose to meet if given the chance.

About 67 to 65 million years ago, Triceratops roamed North America. Though Triceratops was a herbivore and didn't run around terrorising dinosaurs, it was one of the dinosaurs that were able to take down even the strongest of dinosaurs like T-Rex who lived at the same time and place as Triceratops.

An Ornithischian dinosaur, Trike was a quadrupedal animal due to its excessively heavy defenses and body. Only 2 species were recognised so far and it is believed that one evolved from the other (T. Horridus and T. prorsus)?

In Palaeontology, Triceratops remains a big center of debate, as some specimens are classified as species distinct from Triceratops but some may argue that they are nothin

are nothing but juvenile Triceratops.

This dinosaur wasn't the size of a rhinoceros or an elephant, it was a much bigger animal. Growing up to nearly 9 meters and weighing around 5,000 kilograms, Triceratops was a massive animal.

Massive and strong limbs supported the weight of Triceratops and gave it the power to move. Its head is one of the biggest amongst all animals reaching a height of 2 meters and offering tremendous protection.

Possessing 2 horns above its eyes and one above its mouth, fossils show that they were used in combat between Trike and its predators or between Trike males. One of the main predators that hunted Triceratops was Tyrannosaurus Rex as fossils show multiple horns that were healing from T-Rex bites which means it stood its ground and was able to fend off even a massive predator like T-Rex but some fossils also show T-Rex bite marks which means Trike was a prey to the king of dinosaurs.
