SPINOSAURUS

THE LARGEST LAND CARNIVORE OF ALL TIME

pinosaurus, star of Jurassic Park II, is a famous carnivorous dinosaur mainly due to its villainous Hollywood exposure but evidence shows it was nothing like shown.

DINOSAUR SPOTLIGHT

S

Spinosaurus is currently sitting on the throne of the biggest carnivorous dinosaur and land carnivore to ever live.

2 species of Spinosaurus lived during the early Cretaceous era in what is today known as North Africa as its fossils were found in Morocco and Egypt.

Though most of its fame was due to to being the new monster that killed the king of dinosaurs T-Rex in Jurassic Park II, Spinosaurus lived millions of years before T-Rex and in very different areas so it is most likely that they never met and even if they did meet, it is most likely they would not fight each other as it won't bring them any good, T-Rex was smaller than Spinosaurus and had tiny arms but possessed jaws that would tear through Spinosaurus who was a bigger predat

animal but designed for fish hunting and lived a semi-aquatic life which means it wasn't really into fighting big predators and wouldn't even be able to tear through the thick neck of Rex.

Having its fossils destroyed during World War II, Spinosaurus remained a big mystery.

New fossils were unearthed in Australia that seem like Spinosaurus fossils making scientists believe that they had a wider range than just North Africa.

Possessing limbs that were adapted for swimming, and jaws adapted for fish hunting, evidence shows that it was the only semi-aquatic dinosaur. Additionally, it possessed a gigantic sail on its back but its function remains a mystery though some people believe that it was used for thermo-regulation or it just helped it swim.

Spinosaurus fed on coelacanths, sawfish, large lungfish and sharks that lived in rivers and most likely went extinct due to the rivers drying up due to climate change.
