When the Swedish owners of a local restaurant on Belmont decided to retire after 60 years , a woman named Ann Sather decided to quit her job and open her own diner – now known as Ann Sather Restaurant . Her devotion to wholesome , made- from-scratch food , low prices and hard work became legendary in Lakeview . In 1981 , after searching for a successor , Ann finally sold the restaurant to Tom Tunney , who is currently the Alderman of the 44th Ward in Chicago . Make sure to try one of Ann Sather ’ s famous cinnamon rolls !

Bernie ’ s Tap & Grill has been familyowned and operated since 1954 . Located across from Wrigley Field ( on Clark and Waveland ) Bernie ’ s invites a lively atmosphere for Cubs fans to meet with friends and family before and after home games and events . All other times you will find the relaxed yet fun atmosphere of a Chicago neighborhood pub in the heart of Wrigleyville . Great food , amazing staff , 4 full-service bars on 2 floors , free shuffleboard , sidewalk patio cafe , and beer garden .

Serving American comfort food for lunch and early dinner , this relaxed Lakeview East cafe strives to deliver the best service daily . Patrons order at the counter and food is run to the tables in a minimalist setting of neutral tones , wood furnishings and a whitewashed tin ceiling . Everything is made in house and sourced locally .
