Vakki’s work is also an artist’s reflection on her own background, a statement she creates about her country, South Korea. She finds the inspiration in the South Korea’s history, in the 80’s when South Korea, after much delay, began its technological development, with color television and printers that were introduced to the public. The exploding media and propaganda from that era occupied Vakki’s attention, and became the inspiration for her work.
Vakki exhibited in Seoul, Berlin, Beijing, and New York. She also collaborates with other artists, musicians, and designers – constantly finding new ways of expressing herself.
