The interior of the new Sugarfish sushi restaurant in Corona del Mar
Popular Los Angeles sushi chain SUGARFISH has made its way south to Orange County , with its first location in the region opening in Corona del Mar in January . Co-founded by legendary chef Kazunori Nozawa — who served his classic creations at Sushi Nozawa in Studio City from 1987 to 2012 — along with his son , Tom , and others , the eatery is known for carrying on the chef ’ s tradition-based style using sustainably sourced seafood from around the world and other highquality ingredients that accent the flavor of the fish . The menu offers a mixture of sashimi , nigiri , hand rolls and cut sushi rolls , all with an emphasis on simplicity and balance ; another section lists limited availability items , like albacore belly , pink lobster , sea urchin , toro sashimi and more .
