HARVESTERS FASHION SHOW AND LUNCHEON
Luxury designs from Lanvin to Oscar de la Renta and more were modeled on the runway during the Harvesters Fashion Show and Luncheon on Oct . 10 at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall . The event , which raised a record-breaking amount of more than $ 1.9 million to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County , also included a Champagne reception sponsored by Mikimoto : Bartenders adorned with the brand ’ s iconic pearl necklaces poured bubbly from the exclusive Grand Cru vineyards in France , paired with bites from Patina Restaurant Group . The fashion show presented by South Coast Plaza and a seated gourmet luncheon followed . A silent auction featured items like overnight stays at Volcom House on the North Shore of Oahu , Hawaii , and private residences in Palm Springs and Aspen , Colorado , as well as artwork by Victor Hugo Zayas and an all-inclusive shopping experience at South Coast Plaza . Harvesters , founded in 1992 , is a group of women volunteers who seek to ensure all are well-fed in Orange County ; to date , the organization has contributed over $ 17.5 million to Second Harvest Food Bank , which is marking its 40th anniversary this year . Savor Newport Beach
More than $ 106,000 was raised for The Literacy Project at its Napa-inspired Savor soiree on Sept . 23 at Newport Beach Country Club . This outdoor event , attended by 150 supporters , took place on the lawn with a display of artwork from Ethos Contemporary Art gallery plus both vintage and exotic cars from European Collectibles and iLusso . Personal portraits were created by fashion illustrator Kristine Steiner and attendees were also able to bid on silent auction items before being ushered into the alfresco dining area with a bistro-lit canopy . The meal , by chef Pascal Olhats , was complemented by wine pairings from Zotovich Vineyards & Winery . In addition to dinner and a live auction , local professionals were recognized , including Olhats , vintners Steve and Monette Zotovich , Nick Clemence of European Collectibles , Donny Gath of iLusso and Georgeana Ireland of the Ethos gallery . Each honoree shared stories about how literacy helped them to succeed in their careers . Additionally , Gary Grant received the 2023 Outstanding Philanthropist award for his longtime support and helping to launch the Utah chapter , while Gina Jaha was presented with the 2023 Dream Maker award for her committed volunteering over the past decade . The Literacy Project , founded in 2009 by Sue Grant , has served more than 10,500 students from low-income families .
