Visit at Erken laboratory field station, a part
of Uppsala University. Staying overnight,
enjoying the lake, beautiful nature and
sauna.
On April 3rd, 2019, we took the direction of Norrtälje
by private bus.
We were able to put our belongings in our rooms
previously assigned by Susanna. Then we went
towards Erken Lake on foot.
There was ice on the
lake.
The
students
could even walk on the
lake !!!
On site was a laboratory owned by Uppsala
University. Kurt Pettersson , professor emeritus in
limnology at Uppsala University, gave us a lecture
about the historical and the current research at the
Erken Field Station.
The teacher explained to us that year-round students
were studying Lake Erken. They measured it up and
down. The Surface area is 25 KM2, and the
max-
imum depth is 21 meters. They also study the fauna
and flora according to the seasons around the lake, as
well as the temperature of the water.
