D o you think International stars such as Messi earn far too much money only on running up and down a football pitch and kicking a ball at a target? How can they live when millions of slaves in Africa are in Poverty and Famine? Has the world of football gotten out-of-hand? And why is so much money wasted on one head just to boost their teams’ performance!
O ne very highly paid football player is Wayne Rooney who earns more cash in a week than an average family does in a year. During this one week he may play only one game of football and train manly with his club-Manchester United-while NBA players’ play, on average, two to three games per week at a very high intensity level and earn not near enough as he does. We assume, when he is not training he is using this money on an over-priced sports car, gambling most of it down the drain and throwing it around the place. Meanwhile our children presently look on in awe, thinking maybe.... just maybe someday they could be like that guy!
