All the courses on Coursera are free, and more importantly, they are
self-motivated. The courses are not compulsory. They have nothing to
do with the credits students earn at school. Students choose the
courses according to their needs and interest. The higher an
individual’s motivation is, the better learning outcomes one will gain.

Before starting the first lecture,
students will be asked what
their goals are in taking this
course. Different levels of
interest and motivation lead to
different goals, which further
influence the learning
outcomes.

My interest in music led me to take this course and
look at this community for this project, and finally
obtain this statement of accomplishment. While taking
this course, I had also been enrolled in another
course, which was about data analysis. However,
much less interest-powered, I just finished the first
lecture so far.
