Participatory Culture
• Where members feel some degree of social connection with
one another
Students who signed up for this course,
despite their different levels of music
knowledge, are, by and large,
connected with each other because
they shared this platform to enjoy the
music journey.
Specifically, social connections
were further developed from two
aspects:!
• meet-up (physically and
virtually)!
• study groups in different
languages
Although the lectures were
delivered in English, a large
number of students were not
from English-speaking
countries. They formed study
groups in different languages
in the forum. Speaking same
languages, students easily
built connections with each
other in these groups.
