It is in a residential district located on the outskirts of Kırıkkale, a newly-developing industrial city in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey with a population of 200.000 residents. In our school, we have 43 (16 female / 27 male) committed and enthusiastic staff members mostly with over 10 years of teaching experience who aim to make learning stimulating for the students so that they are motivated to do their best within a broad and creative curriculum. We have 644 (340 female / 304 male) students aged between 14-17 coming from the surrounding neighbourhoods of Kırıkkale after a national qualifying examination (TEOG) to enroll in our school. Our students do not have a high standard of living in general and they need support from their social environment, families and the state in some aspects of their lives. educated and/or disinterested families and their disadvantageous family background characteristics have a considerable impact on their academic performance; they are more likely to face some significant problems in their school lives ( lack of active engagement and failure in the lessons, lack of motivation, aimlessness, lack of social adaptation, lack of discipline, bullying, etc.). Our school is an academically-focused secondary school offering various courses of studies mainly based on Maths, Science(Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Social Sciences (History, Geography, Philosophy) and Language (Turkish, English, German) and we prepare our students for the further academic studies at universities. We have 40 hours of lessons per each class a week and our students can also attend supplementary courses at school at the weekends to reinforce previously taught subjects and prepare for the exams. In addition to regular school curriculum, we also offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities including sports competitions, chess tournaments, drama and poem performances. We also carry out some innovative programs and projects in the scope of Total Quality Management such as 'The Coaching Project' to guide our 12th Grade students for the university entrance exams We have an 'E-Twinning And European Union Project Club' in which our students are carrying out the national E-Twinning Reading Project that is already mentioned and seeking for international cooperation with the other schools and students from all over Europe.
