Global Education & European Teaching Strategies Broskolan Broskolan is the school for those who live in the most remote place of the municipality. Two thirds of the students live in Central Bridge and its neighbourhood. One third of the students take the bus from neighbouring smaller communities. There are about 400 students and 40 teachers and educators. 3 basic pillars support their teaching and learning policies to enhance students’ learning: IT- all students have their own Ipad and use Lego robots for programming. LANGUAGE- Despite their “language enhancing method”, lessons tend to be focused on grammar and less in language in use. . SOCIETY- to provide students with a basic understanding of how a democratic society works. They encourage students to participate in the school council. Students in Broskolan can take advantage of a recreation centre after school, which is open all year round. The centre is intended to contribute to the students’ emotional growth and social development. It also complements the school and offers meaningful leisure and recreation. It is worth pointing out that there is a strong coordination with Broskolan. 20
