In challenging groups:
-
High performing and highly motivated students are hand picked to
be part of a special challenging group.
-
DO
Students and teachers discuss assignment examples that have
reached high scores and account for the terminoligy in the rating
criteria.
- All these imply Time! Priorities! Resourcess!
- -Easy is boring, difficult is interesting! These are typical expression in
the world of gaming.
-
-Teachers often give the students the right answer too easily, instead
of letting them figure it out themselves. Many students take the easy
options because high/fast results give more credit.
- -Don’t use the easiest words when you teach – explain the hard ones!
- -Show a different approach to learning and do not focus on praising
high/fast results.
- - Praise the right things. “What a great way to solve the problem!”
- “You have really made an effort today!”
On our first day, we also enjoyed the fika time together -tea time- with
delicious Swedish cinnamon pastries. “fika time”: an expression we’ll always
keep in our Swedish dictionary :)
