This renovation transformed a dated builder-grade home into a bright, welcoming, and timeless space. Originally featuring multicoloured slate floors, ornate cabinetry, and standard bathrooms, the house offered a solid layout but needed a design refresh to reflect the homeowners’ style.
Working with Graceful Interior Design, the renovation focused on clean lines, warm colours, and open, light-filled spaces. Minimal structural changes were needed, with a new beam in the kitchen creating enhanced openness without altering the home’ s flow. The staircase was preserved, sanded, re-stained, and painted, providing a subtle nod to the home’ s original character.
The kitchen emerged as the standout feature, with two cabinet profiles in complementary tones creating depth and modern elegance. Throughout the home, materials and finishes were selected for their natural warmth, creating a calm, spalike atmosphere. Additional windows and skylights bring in natural light, highlighting the thoughtful layout and refined design.
The project balanced timeless appeal with functional living.
