Silverstream Hub platform launches

Silverstream TV has launched a ‘ no nonsense ’ platform , giving planners the choice between autonomous or managed hybrid events .

The Silverstream Hub is built on Silverstream ’ s pedigree of live streaming in-person event content and has additional chat , networking and Q & A functionality built-in .
Buttons or links for downloading content and supporting sponsors can also be added , plus the stream is readily available for on-demand , either in its entirety or as edited snippets .
According to Simon Walton , Silverstream TV ’ s managing director , the Hub offers a more simplified approach for delivering live events to an online audience , allowing planners to keep control of their data , content and audience .
He said : “ Using our years of broadcast production experience , including experience with virtual event platforms , we have designed our hybrid service to allow the benefits of virtual to continue as we move back on site . We can bring in speakers and audience members from all over the world and continue to help organisers serve their new-found global online audience .”
The Silverstream Hub is currently being used by clients including The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence , the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and The Bookseller .
Emma Lowe , director of publisher relations at The Bookseller said : “ In having all of the different components on our
website it enabled us to keep more control of the event - we kept attendees in our own grasp rather than sending them out to a third-party .
“ The other good thing about the Silverstream Hub is that ultimately the video and the content is your own . By hosting it , you continue to drive people back to your website , which fundamentally can only be a good thing because you are driving return visitors online .”

Tevent platform raises £ 1.5m seed funding

UK-based platform Tevent has raised $ 2m (£ 1.5m ) in a seed funding round .
Tevent , built for SMEs and launched in 2021 , has been backed by C-suite executives at Medallia , Strikedeck co-founder Shreesha Ramdas and Salesforce SVP Nathalie Scardino .
The platform allows for external-facing webinars and talks , while influencers and creators can also use it for their community engagements and vlog content . A feature called ‘ Spaces ’ enables communities to
schedule meetings , add contacts , create group chats and calls and send gifs .
“ We ’ re not here to devalue physical occasions ; we ’ re more interested in improving remote ones . Only then can we reap the benefits of sustainability , access and affordability . Quite rightly , virtual is here to stay . We ’ re giving you the tools to make it viable ,” said CEO and co-founder Ahmed Amer .
Tevent says it is now preparing for a Series A round , which will launch the platform
to the broader market in the UK and the US .
The current investment will be used to scale Tevent ’ s platform and develop mobile
and desktop apps and allow Tevent to innovate with app integrations , multicast , APIs and automation , according to the company .
